The Adirondack Thunder have had a couple of players go down in the last week or so and tonight’s we got a timeline on a couple of those players, including one name that went down during Friday Night’s game.

“It’s really tough, you lose Gillespie and Francis before the year even starts for personal reasons, Diotte goes down for the season, and now Boomhower’s hurt and it doesn’t look great. That’s the name of the game, you have to be problem solvers and find solutions and we’ll do our best to do that. I don’t think you replace guys skillsets, you just do what you can to plug holes.

Shaw Boomhower

Shaw Boomhower left Friday Night’s game with an undisclosed injury and will be out for tomorrow at the very least, but it sounded like he would miss more time than that. Boomhower has been a key piece for the Thunder, as he’s been the guy to throw a big hit or drop the gloves when needed. The Belleville, Ontario native has one goal and two assists for three points, along with 33 PIMS in ten games this season.

Keanan Stewart

Adirondack will be without Keanan Stewart for the foreseeable future as he’s out with another concussion. The Guelph, Ontario native has played in nine games that season and has one assist. This is a tough blow for a guy who has expected to be an important piece for the Thunder in the bottom six.

“Yes, he has another concussion, so he’ll be out until it’s really healed. It’s unfortunate.”

Mikael Diotte

The Adirondack Thunder appeared to have gotten some help on the blue line when Mikael Diotte was sent down as he had a goal and an assist in two games with the Thunder before going down with what we have now learned is a season-ending injury. This is another tough blow as the Thunder have now lost two defensemen in the last month.
