The Adirondack Thunder made two moves on Friday, adding forward Jakob Breault on an ATO just hours after defenseman Luke Reid signed an ATO with the Utica Comets.
The Utica Comets have signed forward Luke Reid to an amateur contract (ATO). Reid, 23, has played in six games with the Thunder, putting up a goal and an assist. Prior to joining the Thunder, the Warman, Saskatchewan native spent four years at the University of New Hampshire, where he had eight goals and 41 assists for 49 points in 162 games. Reid was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. This news comes after the Comets only played with five defensemen on Wednesday. I expect Reid to be in their lineup tonight as they host the Springfield Thunderbirds.
The Adirondack Thunder have signed forward Jakob Breault to an ATO. Breault, 25, joins Adirondack after playing four years at the NCAA level. The Quebec native spent one season at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he had three goals and one assist. Breault spent his final three seasons at Utica College, with 39 goals and 52 assists for 91 points in 81 games. This past season, he led the Pioneers in goals (17) and points (37). It will be interesting to see if Head Coach Pete MacArthur puts the 25-year-old up the middle or on the wing. Breault becomes the fourth signing by Adirondack this week.
