With the start of the 2025–26 season just days away, the Atlanta Gladiators announced several player assignments and tryout invitations that will shape the opening weeks of camp. Five Gladiators are headed to the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals for training camp, while four others will join Atlanta on tryout agreements when the team officially opens camp.

Five Gladiators to Admirals Camp

Atlanta’s AHL affiliate in Milwaukee will get a good look at a mix of fresh faces and returning talent. Louis Boudon, who played last season in Sweden with the Nybro Vikings (21 points in 47 games), brings both European experience and a brief AHL background with Laval and Iowa. Joey Cipollone, one of Atlanta’s top producers a year ago, heads north after finishing second on the team with 15 goals and tying for fifth in points with 34.

Isak Walther, a 2019 Nashville Predators draft pick, jumps after four years at the University of Vermont, where he closed his collegiate career with 56 points in 128 games. On the back end, Ryan Conroy and Brendan Less, both acquired in trades from Adirondack this summer, will compete for Admirals spots. Conroy led all Thunder defensemen in scoring last season with 29 points, while Less added 20 points, a +11 rating, and appeared in his first AHL game with Syracuse.

Four Fighting for a Spot in Atlanta

While five Gladiators head north to showcase their skills in Milwaukee, four hungry players will skate into Duluth determined to earn their place on Atlanta’s roster.

Goaltender Logan Stein, 24, returns home to Georgia ready to chase his first professional opportunity. The Suwanee native just wrapped up a five-year NCAA career split between Ferris State and Michigan, where he finished last season with an 11-9-2 record, a 3.22 goals-against average, a .893 save percentage, and one shutout. At Ferris State, Stein showed steady growth, posting a .910 save percentage and a 2.90 GAA during his standout 2023–24 campaign. By the time his college career ended, he had 100 games under his belt, 21 wins, and a World Junior gold medal with Team USA — experience that gives Atlanta a hometown netminder with size, skill, and pedigree.

Joining him in the crease is Luke Lush, 27, a 6’3”, 205-pound goaltender from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Lush split last season with the Tulsa Oilers, earning his first professional win in six appearances. Before turning pro, he spent five years in the NCAA with Sacred Heart and RIT, highlighted by a 35-game workload in 2022–23 that produced 14 wins. In total, Lush logged 53 NCAA games, two shutouts, an Atlantic Hockey championship at RIT, and recognition as AJHL Best Goaltender — credentials that make him a strong contender to push for an ECHL spot.

Up front, Shawn Kennedy, 26, brings a proven scoring touch and a championship background. The Cornwall, Ontario native led Elmira College in scoring as a senior, piling up 13 goals and 26 assists for 39 points in 28 games. Across his four-year career with the Soaring Eagles, Kennedy produced 99 points in 88 games and twice helped his NAHL teams capture the Robertson Cup with Aberdeen and Topeka. After a brief look with Tulsa in 2024–25, he enters camp eager to prove his offense can translate at the professional level.

Rounding out the group is defenseman Amedeo Mastrangeli, 25, who brings poise and puck movement to Atlanta’s blue line competition. The right-shot defender from Richmond Hill, Ontario scored 76 points (8 goals, 68 assists) in 97 games at Elmira College, including back-to-back 20+ assist seasons. He debuted professionally last year with the Macon Mayhem, where he added four points in seven games. With vision, mobility, and a competitive edge, Mastrangeli arrives in camp ready to show he can provide both depth and upside for the Gladiators.

What’s Next

The Gladiators hit the ice for camp later this week, giving fans their first glimpse of the 2025–26 roster. With some players possibly gaining valuable AHL exposure in Milwaukee and others battling to make their mark in Duluth, training camp marks the opening step in Atlanta’s push toward the new season.

Training camp is where surprises often become stories, and it wouldn’t be the first time a tryout or fresh face turned into a regular-season difference-maker.
