Fort Wayne Komets forward Blake Murray is heading overseas to join Pioneers Voralberg (ICEHL) after spending the last five seasons in North America. Murray, 24, had 22 goals and 28 assists for 50 points in 69 games last season. In 15 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs, he had a goal and an assist. Murray began his pro career overseas during the 2020-21 season, where he had seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 16 games with Surahammars IF (HockeyEttan). He is the fifth member of the Komets to take the overseas route since the season ended.

The Uxbridge, Ontario, native has put up 85 goals and 115 assists for 200 points in 290 games over the course of his five seasons in the ECHL, where he played with five different teams. Murray represented the Norfolk Admirals at the 2023 ECHL All-Star Game. In 33 Kelly Cup Playoff games, he’s put up six goals and eight assists for 14 points. During the 2022-23 season, Murray saw 20 games at the AHL level with the Chicago Wolves, where he had two goals and five assists for seven points.

Prior to going pro, Murray spent three seasons in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves. Over the course of his three seasons with the Wolves, he put up 86 goals and 80 assists for 166 points in 186 games. He would add four goals and an assist for five points in eight games during the 2019 OHL Playoffs.
