The Greensboro Gargoyles had a busy Thursday as they added seven players to their training camp roster, with four of those coming via signings. Greensboro now has 15 forwards, eight defensemen, and two goaltenders on their 2026-27 roster.
The Greensboro Gargoyles announced Goaltender Tyler Brennan, forwards Jack Seymour and Daniel Panetta, and defenseman Bryan Huggins have signed ECHL contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Tyler Brennan
Brennan, 23, is coming off his entry level deal with the New Jersey Devils, where he spent all three seasons in the ECHL with the Adirondack Thunder. Over the course of 70 games with the Thunder, he went 27-32-7 with a 3.20 GAA, .889 SV%, and one shutout. He has also struggled with staying healthy during his young career. For Brennan, the move to Greensboro gives him a fresh start as he will split time with Yegor Velmakin who was also re-assigned to the Gargoyles earlier today. I would expect Brennan to be a part of the goaltending for Greensboro during the 2026-27 season.
Daniel Panetta
Panetta, 25, made his ECHL debut last season, where he had a goal and an assists over the course of 12 games with the Jacksonville Icemen. The Belleville, Ontario, native spent his collegiate career at Colgate University, where he had 31 goals and 34 assists for 65 points in 132 NCAA games and won a ECAC Championship with the Raiders in 2023. Heading into the upcoming season, Panetta should be a solid piece in the middle-six for the Gargoyles.
Jack Seymour
Seymour, 25, returns to the Gargoyles after putting up a goal and an assist over the course of 14 games last season. Prior to joining Greensboro, he spent four seasons in the NCAA at the College of Holy Cross. During his time with the Crusaders, he had 22 goals and 30 assists for 52 points in 117 games, while serving as the captain of the Crusaders last season. In 2025, he would help the Crusaders capture a AHA Regular Season Championship.
The Chelsea, Quebec, native also spent 23 games in the BCHL with the Chilliwack Chiefs during the 2021-22 season, where he had 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 24 games. He would add a goal and three assists for four points in 11 playoff games with the Chiefs.
Bryan Huggins
Huggins, 24, had a solid ECHL debut on April 16th, where he had two assists vs Norfolk Admirals, as those would be his only points in his three games with Greensboro. Prior to going pro, the Grand Rapids, Michigan, spent four years at Lake Surperior University. During his time with the Lakers, he had two goals and 16 assists for 18 points in 126 NCAA games.
Ethan Leyh
Leyh, 25, gets re-assigned to Greensboro after coming off a solid season with the Gargoyles last season. In 37 games, he had 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points. He also saw two games at the AHL level with the Chicago Wolves. Out of the seven players heading to Greensboro, Leyh has the most experience with Greensboro.
Gleb Trikozok
Trikozov, 22, heads to Greensboro after spending the last two seasons with the Chicago Wolves. In 66 games with the Wolves, he had nine goals and five assists for 14 points. He spent parts of four seasons in Russia, before playing in the Unvited States.
Yegor Velmakin
Velmakin, 23, was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the seventh round of the 2023 Draft after spending last season in the VHL. In 23 games with the Dynamo St. Petersburg, he went 7-9-3 with a 2.88 GAA, .908SV%, and a shutout. He also spent parts of two seasons in the KHL with Dinamo Minsk where he had 14-13-4 with a 2.63 GAA, .919SV%, and two shutouts in 35 games. The Russian goaltender will split the net with Tyler Brennan as part of the Gargoyles new look goaltending tandem.
