Goaltender Hugo Ollas is heading back home to Sweden to join the Nybro Vikings IF (HockeyAllsvenkan) after spending the last two seasons in the ECHL. He is the first member of the Bloomington Bison to take the overseas route since the 2025-26 season ended. Ollas went 5-4-2 with a 3.01 GAA and .896SV% in 18 games this season. The 23-year-old goaltender is the final year of his two-year, entry-level contract with the New York Rangers that he signed on March 15th, 2024.
The Linköping, Sweden, native was drafted by the New York Rangers in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft and made his pro debut on April 20th, stopping 14 of 18 shots in his first and only game with the Hartford Wolf Pack. He has spent the last two seasons in the ECHL with the Bloomington Bison and Worcester Railers. During his two stints with Bloomington, Ollas has posted a 7-11-3 record with a 3.08 GAA and .893 SV%. In 22 games with the Railers, he went 10-9-2 with a 3.07 GAA and .899SV%.
Prior to going pro, Ollas played three years of NCAA hockey at Merrimack College. During his time with the Warriors, he went 27-27 with a 2.48 GAA, .914SV%, and five shutouts in 60 games.
