The Utica Comets have announced that they’ve sent forward Josh Filmon down to the Adirondack Thunder. Filmon, 21, has played in four games this season with the Comets but has yet to find the scoresheet. I would expect Filmon to be in the lineup on Friday Night vs Reading Royals. This is a big addition for Adirondack as they get another big offensive piece up front. Expect Filmon to slot in on the top six for the Thunder.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native is in his second full professional season. In 65 games last season with Adirondack, he put up 20 goals and 16 assists for 36 points. His 20 goals led Adirondack last season, and he finished second on the team in points. Over the course of his three seasons with the Comets, Filmon has one goal in 20 games. His goal came in his third professional game at the end of the 2022-23 season. Filmon is in the second year of his three-year entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils.

Prior to going pro, Filmon spent parts of four seasons in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos. During his time with the Broncos, he put up 99 goals and 90 assists for 189 points in 212 games. In each of his two seasons with the Broncos, he led the Broncos in goals. Filmon was named to the WHL (Central) First All-Star Team in 2023. He would add seven goals and two assists in nine games during the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
