The Kansas City Mavericks have signed forward Tyler Schleppe to an Ametur Try-Out Agreement (ATO). Schleppe, 24, had six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in 36 games during his final year of eligibility at Ferris State University, while also serving as an alternate captain for the Bulldogs. The Vancouver, BC, native spent four seasons in the NCAA playing for Ferris State University. During his time with the Bulldogs, he had 27 goals and 31 assists for 58 points in 125 games. He is the second player out of Ferris State to make the jump to the ECHL, joining Max Dukovac, who signed an ECHL deal with the Worcester Railers.

He began his career in the BCHL, where he spent parts of five seasons with three different teams. In 180 BCHL games, Schleppe had 55 goals and 65 assists for 120 points in 180 games. He would have three goals and five assists for eight points in 26 BCHL playoff games. Schleppe won a BCHL Championship in 2019 with the Prince George Spruce Kings, where he had five goals and four assists for nine points in 51 games. He would add one assist in nine games during the 2019 playoffs. His best season in the BCHL came in his final season in the league, where he had 26 goals and 30 assists for 56 points in 50 games with the Langley Rivermen.
