The Maine Mariners don’t play until this weekend when they face the Worcester Railers for three games starting on Friday night. The Boston Bruins today assigned defenseman Max Wanner to their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, while assigning defenseman Jackson Edward from Providence down to Maine. Wanner, in his first three games back this past weekend for Maine, scored a goal and was even in plus/minus. In seven games for Providence, Wanner before the injury played in seven games with Providence but didn’t record a point and was a plus-two. Edward, in nine games with Providence, is pointless with a plus-two. In two games for Maine this season, Edward has been pointless and is a minus-one.

The Edmonton Oilers drafted Wanner 212th in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Bruins on March 4, 2025. Wanner, in 112 AHL games over four seasons between the Providence Bruins and Bakersfield Condors, has 22 points on eight goals and 14 assists. He’s a +20 with a shorthanded goal.
The Bruins drafted Edward 200th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Edward played in seven games for the Mariners last season, recording two points on a goal and an assist. He was a minus-three with 17 penalty minutes. Edward, in 40 career AHL games, including this season, has seven points on a goal and six assists. He’s a minus-five with 16 penalty minutes.
