Tahoe Knight Monsters defenseman Nate Kallen is heading back overseas, this time to Austria to join the Vienna Capitals in the ICEHL. Kallen, 28, had five goals and 23 assists for 28 points in 46 games this season with the Knight Monsters. He led all Tahoe defenders in both points and assists. Kallen is the second player from Tahoe to take the overseas route since the season started, joining goaltender Zane McIntyre, who went back overseas after his short stint with the Knight Monsters.
This will be his third stint playing overseas after spending time in Slovakia and Scotland. In 10 games in Slovakia during the 2022-23 season, he put up three assists for 10 points. He would add two assists in six playoff games. The following season, he had five goals and 18 assists for 23 points in 39 games in the EIHL with the Glasgow Clan.
