The Reading Royals have acquired forward Ty Voit from the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for defenseman Robbie Stucker. This is a solid trade for both teams, as the Royals had a logjam on the blueline with Vincent Sevigny rejoining the team today as well.

Ty Voit

Voit, 22, has two goals in nine games this season with the Grizzlies. Prior to joining Utah, he played with the Newfoundland Growlers and Cincinnati Cyclones. In 77 career ECHL games, he has 12 goals and 35 assists for 47 points. His pro debut came in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, where he played in just one game. Voit was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

Prior to going pro, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native played three seasons in the OHL with the Sarnia Sting. In 183 OHL games, he had 58 goals and 155 assists for 213 points. During the 2022-23 season, he led the OHL with 81 assists in 67 games.

Robbie Stucker

Stucker, 27, has a goal and four assists for five points in 17 games this season with the Reading Royals. The former seventh-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets will now be joining his sixth ECHL team over the course of his four-year career. In 126 ECHL games, he has put up three goals and 47 assists for 50 points. He played in three Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Royals last season.

Prior to going pro, the St.Paul, Minnesota, native played one season in the USHL, where he put up five goals and 27 assists for 32 points in 56 games with the Chicago Steel and Fargo Force. He would add two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 14 playoff games. Stucker then took the NCAA route, spending his first three seasons at the University of Minnesota. In 79 games with the Golden Gophers, he had two goals and 14 assists for 16 points. He spent his final two seasons of eligibility at the University of Vermont. During his time with the Catamounts, he had seven goals and 22 assists for 29 points in 67 games.
