The Reading Royals have announced the signing of defenseman Kyle Walker and placed forward Garrett Devine on waivers.
Walker, 25, spent the last five seasons in USports with Mount Royal University. In 128 games, he had 16 goals and 61 assists for 77 points. He would add four goals and 13 assists for 13 points in 23 USports Playoff games. During the 2024-25 season, he served as the captain of the Cougars. Prior to playing in USports, Walker spent four seasons in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips and Regina Pats. During his time in the WHL, he put up nine goals and 34 assists for 43 points in 187 WHL games. He wore an “A” in his last two seasons with the Pats.
The Reading Royals have placed forward Garrett Devine on waivers. Devine, 28, had three goals and four assists for seven points in 27 games this season with the Kalamazoo Wings and Reading Royals. He began the season in the SPHL with the Peoria Rivermen, where he had nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points in 30 games.
The Windsor, Colorado, native has spent parts of three seasons in the ECHL, putting up three goals and five assists for eight points in eight games with four different teams. At the SPHL level, he has 20 goals and 36 assists for 56 points with the Peoria Rivermen. He would have a goal and two assists for three points in four playoff games last season.
