ECHL: Tyler Brennan Sent Back To Adirondack Thunder

What This Means for the Thunder

Adirondack will now head into the weekend with a tandem of Tyler Brennan and David Fessenden. Brandon Kasel, who was signed as the EBUG yesterday, has since been released. Seeing that the Thunder have back-to-back games this weekend, I would expect Brennan and Fessenden to each see a start this weekend. This is a smart move by Utica, seeing that Brennan’s last game came on November 30th in a win in which he stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced vs Reading Royals. The 21-year-old goaltender is in his second pro season after his season got cut short due to an injury, as he played in only 13 games during the 2023-24 campaign. In 21 career games with Adirondack, Brennan has an 8-9-1 record with a 3.01 GAA, .899SV%, and one shutout; he is still looking for his first taste of AHL action.

Prior to going pro, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native spent four years in the WHL with the Prince George Cougars, where he went 38-42-8 with a 3.19 GAA, .898 SV%, and seven shutouts. He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft and signed his entry-level contract with the Devils in April 2023.
