Campbell, 24, joins Adirondack after signing an AHL deal with the Utica Comets this past Summer. The Chateuguay, Quebec, native spent the majority of last season in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he put up two goals and four assists for six points in 18 games. Campbell made his pro debut with Milwaukee at the end of the 2023-24 season, putting up three goals in nine games and appearing in four games during the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. He also appeared in five games with the Atlanta Gladiators, scoring three goals and adding two assists for five points. If Campbell can produce the way he did in Atlanta, expect him to be an important piece for the Thunder while he’s down here.
Squires, 20, is in the first year of his three-year entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils, which he signed on July 19, 2024. The Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, native made his pro debut at the end of last season with the Utica Comets, where he had a goal and three assists for four points in three games. There’s no doubt he could be a solid piece, and it will be interesting how he performs in his first full professional season. Prior to joining Utica, he spent four seasons in the QMJHL with the Cape Brenton Eagles. In 255 games with Cape Brenton, he had 103 goals and 143 assists for 246 points. He would add nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points in 24 QMJHL playoff games.
Reid, 23, heads back to the Thunder after making his pro debut with Adirondack last season, where he had a goal and an assist in six games. He would then head to the AHL, where he recorded two assists in five games and ultimately earned an AHL contract for the 2025-26 season. Heading into the 2025-26 season, I would expect the Warman, Saskatewan, native to be a top four defenseman for the Thunder to start the season.
Hanzel, 22, is in the second year of his three-year, entry-level deal with the New Jersey Devils. The former sixth-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche is coming off his first full pro season. In 61 games last season with the Atlanta Gladiators, he put up three goals and 19 assists for 22 points. He has also played in nine career AHL games with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he has two assists. Prior to going pro, he spent four seasons in the WHL with the Seattle Thunderbirds. In 218 games with the Thunderbirds, Hanzel had 39 goals and 110 assists for 149 points. He would add seven goals and 28 assists for 35 points in 44 WHL playoff games. In 2023, he led the WHL in plus/minus as the Thunderbirds won the Memorial Cup.
Brennan, 22, enters the final season of his entry-level deal with the New Jersey Devils. It’s been a rough start for the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native has dealt with injuries in each of his first two professional seasons. In 42 games with the Thunder, he has a 14-21-3 record with a 3.38 GAA, .883SV%, and one shutout. Adirondack will start the 2025-26 season with the same goaltending duo they had last season.
