One of the biggest stories for the Edmonton Oilers entering Thursday night against the Dallas Stars was that Connor McDavid is three goals away from recording 400 career goals. McDavid did not score a goal as Edmonton got crushed on the road against Dallas by a final score of 7-2.

It was a frustrating game for the Oilers all night long. Goalie Tristan Jarry struggled to make a save as he only stopped 20 shots on 27 attempts. There are major questions about whether or not Jarry should be Edmonton's goalie moving forward.

With that being said, it was a bad game all around for the Oilers. McDavid did some uncharacteristic during the game against the Stars.

The Stars had a 5-2 lead at the end of the second period against the Oilers. Edmonton was on a power play at the time. McDavid was having a rough night. He is known for scoring goals and making plays, but McDavid did something that he usually does not do.

He got into a fight with Justin Hryckowian on the Stars. It caught a lot of people's attention because this is something that is not in his comfort zone.

There were a lot of fans who commented on McDavid fighting with another team. Someone believed that McDavid was preparing to fight Jarry in the locker room because of how bad of a goalie he has been with Edmonton.

It was a total mess of a night for the Oilers. Maybe McDavid showing some fight will make play with an edge more often. He needs to stick up for himself more and also his teammates. It is understandable why a fight would occur in that situation because they were down three goals at the moment.

Dallas dominated Edmonton from start to finish on Thursday night here. With McDavid not recording a point, this was the first game this occurred since February 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Oilers will next play against the St. Louis Blues on the road on Friday night.
