The Edmonton Oilers will go into Game 4 tonight down 2–1 in the first round series against the Los Angeles Kings. Edmonton is looking for another win on home ice before they head back to Crypto.com Arena.

Last game, the Oilers managed to keep the lead for the first period with two goals, but the Kings quickly got three unanswered goals. Connor Brown then tied it up, but Trevor Moore swiftly answered. Finally in the third period, the Oilers gained four goals, including two empty netters.

Can Edmonton once again beat the Kings to hopefully push it to a six-game series?

Edmonton projected lineup

This is what is predicted of the lineup tonight based on this morning’s skate:

Nugent-Hopkins – McDavid – Hyman

Podkolzin – Draisaitl – Arvidsson

Kane – Henrique – Brown

Frederic – Janmark – Perry

Nurse – Bouchard

Walman – Klingberg

Kulak – Emberson

Pickard

Switching up the top two lines

It looks like Coach Kris Knoblauch is mixing up the first two lines based off the results of Game 3. Edmonton’s two superstars, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, will centre their own lines.

The line of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, McDavid, and Zach Hyman was one of the most dominant lines in the NHL last season. Let’s hope that they can recreate the magic tonight.

Evander Kane, Adam Henrique, and Connor Brown will remain on the same line together. This line combined for a total of three goals and two assists in Edmonton’s 7–4 victory in Game 3. Kane’s return has proven to be integral to Edmonton’s production—as long as he stays out of the penalty box.

Another switch up for defensive pairings

The absence of Mattias Ekholm has been felt throughout this first-round series and the Oilers defence can’t seem to find their groove. Knoblauch is mixing up the defensive pairings once again. L

et’s hope the blueline can stop the Kings from finding the back of the net.

Pickard gets the start

Calvin Pickard will get the start again in net tonight. During Game 3, Pickard saved 24 out of 28 shots, with a 0.857 SV%.

Still, it is not a good look for a Stanley Cup playoff goalie to let in four goals.
