Edmonton Oilers Organization Adds Local Standout and NHL Legacy in Four-Player Signing Wave

Luke Prokop, 22, has a strong Alberta hockey pedigree. After four WHL seasons with the Calgary Hitmen, he transitioned to the Edmonton Oil Kings, where he recorded 33 points in 55 games and 16 more in 19 playoff games en route to a league title and Memorial Cup berth.

He returned to the Memorial Cup Final a year later with Seattle. Nashville selected him in 2020 (third round).

The 6-foot-6, 220-lb defenceman has seen time in the ECHL and with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals, recording four points in 31 games last season.

Mats Lindgren's Dad, who had the Same Name, played for the Oilers

Mats Lindgren, 20, is the son of former Oiler Mats Lindgren (1996-99). The Vancouver product spent most of last season with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, recording seven goals and 21 points in 56 games, and also suited up for seven AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Matt Brown, 26, comes from the Reading Royals (ECHL) and Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL), where he's appeared in 19 AHL games across two seasons.

At Boston University, he recorded 101 points in 115 games and received 2021 Hockey East All-Tournament and 2023 First All-Star Team honors.

Trevor Janicke, 24, split last season with the Rapid City Rush (ECHL) and Calgary Wranglers (AHL), recording 25 points in 30 ECHL games. A fifth-round Anaheim pick in 2019, he played five years at Notre Dame before turning pro.
