The Edmonton Oilers won Game 5 in dramatic circumstances, and as they wait for their Western Conference Finals opponents to be determined, they've shared a behind the scenes look at the win.
While the Stanley Cup Playoffs didn't start in ideal fashion for the Edmonton Oilers, they've been red-hot as of late, winning eight of their last nine games as they've now punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals for the third straight season.
It wasn't easy however, as they played in three one-goal games in their 4-1 series win over the Vegas Golden Knights, with Kasperi Kapanen scoring the winner in Game 5 to send their opponents home in a dramatic 1-0 victory.
As they await their opponent with Winnipeg and Dallas playing Game 6 on Saturday night, they've shared a fun behind the scenes look at their victory in Game 5, showing the pure emotion and elation from the team when Kapanen finished off the series in dramatic fashion.
On top of that, we got a mic'd up video of Zach Hyman as Kapanen scored the winner, only adding to the emotion of the incredible scenario that saw the Oilers take down the Pacific Division Champions.
For Oilers fans, this was one of the biggest wins in recent franchise history, and given the emotion of the situation and the way they played in clutch moments, it's clear that this is a very different team from a year ago.
There's still eight wins standing between the Oilers and Stanley Cup glory in 2025 after the team came just one win short last season, and if they can continue to ride this emotion and get the same great goaltending from Stuart Skinner, this season could end in very different circumstances.
