The Edmonton Oilers have remained steady with their current uniform set, but according to a report, they'll be debuting an entirely new uniform this season.
For years now, the Edmonton Oilers uniform set up has remained mostly unchanged beyond the Reverse Retro series headed by former jersey sponsor Adidas in the early 2020's.
Now however, we may be getting a permanent change for the Oilers, with the team expected to unveil a brand new alternate jersey in 2025/26, something that fans have been clamoring for.
The first report on this situation came from Brenden Escott, who notes that the Oilers are set to unveil a brand new jersey, although the time that it is revealed has yet to be announced.
On top of that, Tom Gazolla hints at January 30th as the date that the team will debut the jersey, and knowing the history of poorly received alternate jersey's in Edmonton, pressure is high for this team to get it right this time around.
With the team set to contend for a Stanley Cup once again in 2026, a new jersey may end up being one of the most memorable in franchise history, and whether that's a good thing or not is entirely up to the creative team that bring to life the new look for the Oilers.
Ultimately, the Oilers current setup is one of the cleanest in the NHL, and with stars like Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid rocking them throughout the season, it adds to the prestige, and now Oilers fans will be hoping that they can get this right and put together a historic campaign.
