The Toronto Maple Leafs have been linked to Carolina Hurricanes UFA forward Jack Roslovic, per the most recent 32 Thoughts podcast of analyst Elliotte Friedman.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for additional depth up front, and they could look to the Carolina Hurricanes for that solution.

UFA forward Jack Roslovic, who is coming off a 1-year contract with Carolina he signed last summer, could be what the Maple Leafs are looking for, per a recent report.

During his recent '32 Thoughts' podcast, NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman said that he believes the Toronto Maple Leafs could come calling to Roslovic and references how Toronto captain Auston Matthews knows him, would could facilitate a potential deal.

One other guy he thinks the Leafs are in on is Roslovic, he can see the connection. RH shot, says Matthews knows him, curious if it happens.

Friedman also said that the Leafs would have to clear up salary cap space in order to make a deal work.

I think one of the reasons the Leafs didn't get [Andrew] Mangiapane was because they kind of indicated we have to move some bodies out. And Mangiapane didn't want to wait. So far, it looks like, at least for now, Roslovic is waiting. I assume one of them is [David] Kampf, another one could potentially be [Calle] Jarnkrok.

Roslovic had 39 points (22G, 17A) in 81 games for Carolina this year.

He was originally taken with the 25th pick by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He has also played for the Columbus Blue Jackets and the New York Rangers.

He has 260 points (102G, 158A) in 526 career NHL games.
