We’re just a month away from the puck dropping on the men’s ice hockey tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Along with the excitement that naturally comes with the quadrennial event, there’s heightened expectation this year, as players from the National Hockey League are set to represent their countries for the first time since Canada won gold in Sochi, Russia, in 2014.
The return of the league’s participation couldn’t come at a better time for the sport. Not only are fans going to be treated to a best-on-best tournament of exceptional proportions, but the amount of talent – including several future Hall of Famers – makes the Winter Games in Milano must-see television.
We got a taste of what to expect last February, when Connor McDavid led Team Canada to the title in the 4 Nations Face-Off. Even with just Sweden, Finland, and the United States competing, everyone got a glimpse of what this “new golden age” of players can do on the international stage when they are surrounded by the best in the game.
Each of the 32 teams in the NHL will be represented in Italy, with the Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, and Colorado Avalanche sending several players, with the Tampa Bay Lightning leading all teams with 11 players set compete at the Olympics.
Here’s the full list of players who are either in the NHL or affiliated with an NHL team, competing in this year’s Olympics, sorted by their club:
