The Florida Panthers are making waves on and off the ice, as not only are they up 2-0 in Round 3, but they have just announced a partnership with Michael Buble.

The Florida Panthers have hired Canadian pop singer Michael Buble for a good cause. Buble, a five-time Grammy Award winner, will participate in the team's charity fundraising campaign for the American Cancer Society.

The campaign, 'Panthers on the Prowl,' combines art and philanthropy, with contributors being asked to sponsor the life-size panther sculptures that will be displayed throughout South Florida.

''Panthers on the Prowl' is a creative and really cool and uplifting way to demonstrate and show our support for those people that are suffering, so we can generate the much-needed funding to keep this fight going,' Buble said. 'Cancer touches all of us, my family, friends, yours, neighbors, everyone. I joined my buddy Bill Zito and the Florida Panthers and all of our NHL hockey community because I want to be part of the solution.'

Proceeds raised will benefit cancer research and patient care. The campaign was conceived by Panthers president of hockey operations and general manager Bill Zito and his wife, Julie Zito.

Bill Zito's wife Julie survived cancer

Julie is a cancer survivor, and Bill lost both his mother and sister to cancer, and the Zito family recently lost a close friend to cancer as well. The team is hoping to raise at least $1 million, and would love to go a lot higher than that if possible.

'It's in all of our families and all of our friendships,' said Zito, who joined the Panthers in 2020. 'It makes me more determined not to achieve a goal for the goal's sake, but to achieve a goal to bring people together.'

Launched in March, the campaign already has secured support from world-famous artist Romero Britto, in addition to NFL superstars and South Florida natives Nick and Joey Bosa.

Back on the ice, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead in their series against the Carolina Hurricanes, both on the road. They now head back to Miami looking to take a commanding 3-0 series lead on Saturday night. The puck is set to drop at 8 PM ET.
