When speaking to the media on Wednesday, Philadelphia Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet revealed that goaltender Samuel Ersson had “tweaked” something while warming up and is considered day-to-day.

It didn’t sound too serious, but we’ll see over the next few days.
Tocchet didn’t clarify what exactly is ailing Ersson or how he was hurt. Speculation about the Swedish netminder’s condition arose after he missed the team’s practice.
Ersson was in goal for the Flyers’ matchup on Tuesday night against the rival Pittsburgh Penguins. He turned away 26 of the 28 shots he faced, including two of the three attempts he faced in the shootout, to help Philadelphia grab a 3-2 win, giving the team four victories in its last five games.
Tocchet mentioned that Ersson will be reevaluated on Thursday, the same day the Flyers are scheduled to host the Nashville Predators. If the 26-year-old isn’t good to go, then the team might have to turn to Dan Vladar, who has been great thus far, going 3-2-0 in five starts, with a 1.81 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.
Philly will finish up a five-game homestand this weekend with matchups against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames on Saturday and Sunday.
While it’s too early to say whether Ersson has lost the starting job to Vladar, Ersson’s numbers aren’t going him any favors. Even with back-to-back wins, he has a 2-1-1 record in four starts, with a 3.08 GAA and a .876 SV%. He gave up four goals in each of his first two starts this season, including giving up four on 18 shots in a loss to the Winnipeg Jets almost two weeks ago.
In 114 NHL appearances, Ersson has a record of 53-40-13, with a 2.99 GAA, a .888 SV% and seven shutouts.
