The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Jacob Gaucher to a one-year, two-way contract extension, PuckPedia reported Thursday evening.
Gaucher, 25, skated in four games with the Flyers during the 2025-26 regular season. The 6’3″ right-shot center spent most of the year with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms, collecting 20 goals and 36 points in 69 games.
According to PuckPedia, Gaucher’s new contract for the 2026-27 season carries an $850,000 NHL cap hit. He’ll be paid a $250,000 salary for the time he spends in the AHL, with a total of $280,000 in guaranteed money.
Gaucher’s younger brother, Nathan, is a prospect in the Anaheim Ducks organization.

An undrafted player, Gaucher spent his junior career in the QMJHL with the Val-d’Or Foreurs and Baie-Comeau Drakkar. He scored 35 goals and 68 points in 66 games as an over-age player with Baie-Comeau in 2021-22; he also served as team captain with the Drakkar, having previously worn an “A” the previous two seasons in Val-d’Or.
Gaucher parlayed that strong final junior season into a pro deal with the ECHL’s Reading Royals in 2022-23. After scoring 61 points in 71 games as a first-year pro with Reading, Gaucher advanced to the AHL with Lehigh Valley the following year and quickly established himself as an everyday bottom-six forward at that level.
The Flyers elected to sign Gaucher to a two-year, entry-level contract in December of 2024, midway through his first of back-to-back 20-goal seasons with Lehigh Valley. The Longueuil, Que. product appeared in his first four NHL games with the Flyers in the 2024-25 season.
Gaucher has yet to record a point through his eight NHL games with the Flyers to date. Through 198 career AHL games over his three seasons with the Phantoms, Gaucher has racked up 48 goals, 90 points, and 109 penalty minutes; he’s added four goals and eight points in 13 career Calder Cup Playoff contests.
