The 2025 NHL Draft has been full of trades, and on day two we saw another one, and this time, it was a former Winnipeg Jets draft pick getting moved in a surprise deal between Minnesota and Washington.

On day two of the NHL Draft, things have gotten chaotic, with more trades than anyone could possibly keep up with, but for the most part, they simply involve draft picks.

That is with the exception of two, as the Buffalo Sabres acquired Conor Timmins and a prospect early in the day for a second-round pick from Pittsburgh, and now, a former Winnipeg Jets prospect has been moved as well.

According to Michael Russo, Declan Chisholm, who the Jets drafted back in 2018 has been traded by the Minnesota Wild, with the Washington Capitals giving up Chase Priskie and the 123rd overall pick to get it done.

Chisholm was originally a fifth round pick of the Jets, and would go on to play just four games for the team before being acquired on waivers by the Minnesota Wild, tallying one assist in those four games.

In two years with the Wild, Chisholm has played in 95 games, tallying 5 goals and 20 points in that time, so while he hasn't gone on to become a star, he could have been a consistent player on the Jets back end had they not lost him on waivers.

Ultimately though, he was never set to become a star with Winnipeg despite having good size and enough skill to compete and the next level, and now he finds himself on his third NHL team as the 25-year old looks to establish himself at the top level as an everyday NHLer.
