The Boston Bruins are undefeated in the Fraser Minten era.
The 20-year-old former second-round pick of the Maple Leafs made his Bruins’ debut on Saturday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, just under a month after Toronto traded him at the deadline. Minten played 14:59 in his Bruins’ debut, seeing spot duty on the penalty kill, and won four of 11 faceoffs. His debut also included one blocked shot, two giveaways, while skating mostly with Marat Khusnutdinov, and Vinni Lettieri.
Heading into his Bruins’ debut, Minten spoke to the media and admitted there’s a lot of ‘firsts’ coming, that’s going to take some time to get used to.
“Never skated at this rink before and never been in this city before so it’s all new stuff. I’m just going to play hard like I’ve been playing in Providence and be a reliable, hard working guy.”

Minten wore No. 93 for the Bruins, a jersey number that’s never been worn in franchise history. He wore No. 39 with the Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Marlies. During his debut Saturday night against the Hurricanes, the team had some fun with Minten, throwing a mic on him for his debut:
Outgoing and confident. Exactly what you want to see from a young player making a debut on a new team

Minten had impressed the Bruins’ faithful since being acquired from the Maple Leafs, recording seven points in 10 games for the AHL’s Providence Bruins, and showing off his smarts, and solid two-way game. Bruins’ head coach Joe Sacco spoke to reporters prior to Minten’s debut and revealed the reports he’s been given on Minten’s game.
“The reports that we got from Providence were that he’s been a very reliable, smart player. He’s been playing well down there and it’s an opportunity for the organization to get a look at him.”
With Boston at the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference, it’s a great time for the Bruins to give a number of their prospects a look, including Minten. Boston has five games left in its regular season, and Minten is likely to dress in each one down the stretch.
The Maple Leafs acquired towering defenceman Brandon Carlo from the Bruins, at 15 percent salary retention through the 2026-27 season, for Minten, and a first-round pick.
