Golden Knights Sign Braeden Bowman to Six-Year Extension

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed forward Braeden Bowman to a six-year contract extension worth $3.4 million annually, the team announced Thursday.

The deal will begin with the 2027-28 season and keep Bowman under contract through the 2032-33 campaign. He has one season remaining on his current two-year contract, which carries an average annual value of $912,500.

Bowman, 23, is coming off his first extended NHL opportunity after taking advantage of injuries early in the 2026-27 season.

Braeden Bowman Earned NHL Opportunity With Vegas

Bowman appeared in 54 regular-season games for the Golden Knights last season, recording eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points.

He initially stepped into a larger role when captain Mark Stone was sidelined. Bowman scored in three consecutive games and recorded at least one point in five straight contests during that stretch.

He also received opportunities on Vegas’ top line and power-play units, showing enough offensive ability to remain with the NHL club for much of the season.

Bowman also spent time with the Henderson Silver Knights, Vegas’ AHL affiliate, where he recorded 26 goals and 36 assists in 34 games according to one account, while another lists 12 goals and 26 points in 20 games during his latest stint. His AHL production followed a strong first professional season in which he registered 14 goals and 22 assists in 68 games.

Undrafted Forward Earns Long-Term Commitment

Bowman originally joined the Golden Knights organization as an undrafted free agent after a standout junior career with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League.

He served as Guelph’s captain during the 2023-24 season and finished that campaign with 71 points in 68 games. After signing his entry-level contract with Vegas, he made his professional debut with Henderson.

Bowman made his NHL postseason debut during Vegas’ run to the Stanley Cup Final. He did not appear during the first three rounds but entered the lineup for Game 6 against the Carolina Hurricanes, skating 9:12 in the Golden Knights’ series-clinching loss.

Vegas ultimately lost the Stanley Cup Final 4-2.

Bowman Eyes Full-Time NHL Role

The new contract gives Bowman a chance to establish himself as a permanent member of Vegas’ lineup.

“My goal is to become a full-time player for the Knights,” Bowman said Tuesday at the team’s golf tournament. “I’m excited. I think the team is looking really good again. Obviously, Vegas always has a strong team. So I’m just trying to establish my identity on the team, and we’ll see how it goes.”

At 23, Bowman has time to develop into a consistent middle-six contributor while providing Vegas with cost-controlled production under the new agreement.

Training camp is scheduled to begin Sept. 16, with the Golden Knights opening their season against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sept. 29.
