GOTTA SEE IT: Sorokin Scores Goalie Goal
Thomas Salus-Imagn Images

ELMONT, N.Y. — In the final seconds of a dominant 7-4 win, Ilya Sorokin scored a goalie goal for his first-ever goal.

Somewhere, Billy Smith is smiling. He’s the second-ever Islanders goalie to pull off the feat. Smith pulled off the feat in the dynasty years.

Said Sorokin, with a gigantic smile, “I knew I’d do it before Igor.”

That, of course, is a nod to his best buddy and rival Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers

Shoutout to Steven Stamkos, who made it all happen.

The goal capped off a feel-good game for the Islanders.
