Hall of Fame goalie Roberto Luongo continues to do things to make him beloved among the hockey community.

Hall of Fame goalie Roberto Luongo was a beloved player during his days in the NHL as a superstar goalie. He continues to make his mark on the hockey community since stepping into a management role with the Florida Panthers. Luongo has been celebrating the Panthers' Stanley Cup championship this offseason, while deciding to get a workout in on the ice in a very unique way.

Luongo strapped up the pads for a local beer league hockey game. The former NHL netminder answered an ad in a Facebook group posted by a team desperately looking for a substitute goalie.

Bobby Lou shined in a 4-2 victory for his team defeating the five-time defending league champions.

Watch how shocked the lads were finding out that Luongo was going to be the goalie for the evening.

'Hey, we need some defence, okay? Let's play some defense tonight.'

Luongo playfully chirps the team.

The 4th overall pick from 1997 played for the Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders during his NHL career. Luongo posted a 2.52 GAA, a .919 save percentage and a record of 489-392-124 during his career.

Luongo was never afraid to show off his personality, performing a skit in 2010 with TSN called "Roberto Luongo Poetry." He covered his dislike for shootouts and how he couldn't tell the Sedin twins apart during his piece.

He also has one of the best social media accounts 'Strombone' on X where he is never afraid to post self-deprecating posts about himself.

Luongo is a legend and has an infectious personality that has only helped grow the game.
