After losing to the Sabres on Thursday, the Habs were back in action tonight in Boston.
Martin St-Louis’ team played in red.

The Habs found the back of the net first.
Cole Caufield, for the fifth game in a row, rattled the ropes.
Dinner’s ready! Matty sets the table for Cole!

Late in the first, Kirby Dach and Jonathan Aspirot threw down the gloves.
Let’s just say no one expected that.

Dach injured a finger and at the start of the second period, he wasn’t on the bench.
Fortunately, he returned midway through the period.
The Bruins tied the score twice during this period.
After Cole Caufield’s 28th goal (again) on the powerplay , David Pastrnak made a play for teammate Morgan Geekie.
Jake Evans is a defensive specialist; he can’t keep up with the puck and the player marked by his defender. He had to take Geekie. https://t.co/74fAQ5PykZ

But later, Caufield completed his hat trick with a beautiful goal.
3-2 Montreal after 40 minutes of play.

Boston didn’t give up, however. First, the home team tied the score thanks to Fraser Minten.
Seconds later, on the power play, Geekie scored a second goal.
The tide had turned in Boston… and it was 4-3 to the home team.

Final score: 4-3 Bruins. Martin St-Louis’ team was unable to score in the final moments of the game.
They’ll be back in action on Tuesday against the Golden Knights at the Bell Centre.
– The Americans? No one.
Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet:

is 3 on 3. Who would you rather have there than Cole Caufield?” pic.twitter.com/ddDh9SO5cc

– He made some nice saves, but it wasn’t his best…
Samuel Montembeault late in the third period: 4 goals on 18 shots.
Habs goalies consistently end their work night with an efficiency percentage below .900.
This needs to be fixed.

– Ouch.
Not good. This would be a huge loss for the #NHLBruins. Maybe the difference in making the playoffs or not. https://t.co/WYPGmZoVmC

– Haha.
Cole Caufield hasn’t scored in several minutes and I’m a little worried.
– Marc Dumont (@MarcPDumont) January 25, 2026
– Too bad.
