During an interview last night, during the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Anaheim Ducks, Jeff Gorton made some interesting statements.
The executive vice president of hockey operations for the Montreal Canadiens was interviewed on Prime Video and shared his thoughts on his team's start to the season.
While he admitted the team isn't as "in the mix" as expected, he emphasized that reinforcements are on the way for the Canadiens.
Here's an excerpt from his response:
"You have to realize that several players aren't with us yet," said Jeff Gorton, pointing to three names in particular:"Ivan Demidov and Michael Hage, our two first-round picks from the last draft, are doing very well right now. We have Logan Mailloux in the AHL and David Reinbacher, who is currently injured. There's also goaltender Jacob Fowler at Boston College. It's exciting."

"Several players are on the way," reminds Jeff Gorton.
Full interview:
Like the rest of us, Canadiens management has also noticed the immediate impact Patrik Laine has had on the team's success over the past few games.
We're excited to see what comes next, but it's clear that things are much more encouraging and positive than they were a few weeks ago, when Martin St-Louis' job was constantly being questioned.
What about you? Do you believe the Montreal Canadiens can get back in the playoff mix this season?
