It's always a good time when 'Jeopardy!' contestants are faced with a straightforward sports question that 99% of fans would know, while readily having an answer available for topics like "historic rivers" or "15th century metaphysical poetry."
But on last night's episode of the legendary game show, contestants were stumped when asked a question about the Edmonton Oilers and 2019 Hart Trophy winner Leon Draisaitl.
Draisaitl, a three-time All-Star whose spent the entirety of his 11-year career in Edmonton, is one half of one of the NHL's greatest duos alongside the outstanding Connor McDavid. However, it was clear from the jump that none of "Jeopardy!'s" guests wanted any part of the $600 hockey-related question.
During Tuesday night's airing of the Ken Jennings-hosted show, the question was posed to Rockford, IL attorney Stacy Shelly under the category: "Canadian Girlfriends."
"Leon Draisaitl stars for this northernmost NHL team but went to warmer Spain to propose to Celeste Dejardins," Jennings asked.
After Shelly passed on answering, fellow contestant Ian Morrison hopped in with the answer: "Who are the Winnipeg Jets?" which was quickly shot down by the "Jeopardy!" host.
"I can't stop laughing, for multiple different reasons, whyyy is this so funny!!! " a user cried.
"At least someone tried and wasn't incredibly too far off," another commented.
"They didn’t forget, the NHL just sucks at establishing a foothold in culture. They never knew," a fan replied.
"i don’t think people understand outside of edmonton and gary people do not give a rats ass about the edmonton oilers," another person claimed.
"nothing is funnier than sports questions on jeopardy," another user admitted.

Credit to Morrison for at least getting in there and saying something remotely close. But clearly the NHL has to do a better job of marketing in Rockford, Baltimore and Aurora, Colorado.
Draisaitl is coming off his eighth 100+ point season after helping lead the Oilers to another Stanley Cup Finals appearance this past June. It was the second straight time Edmonton made it to the SCF and lost to the Florida Panthers.
