Jets Coach Scott Arniel Rips Team After Crushing Round 2 Defeat to Stars

The Winnipeg Jets fell 3-2 in Game One against the Dallas Stars, and after the game, Jets Head Coach Scott Arniel absolutely ripped the team for the performance.

After a dramatic Game 7 win in round one, the Winnipeg Jets kick started round two against the Dallas Stars with a tough performance, as the team struggled throughout the night, falling 3-2 in a competitive game.

While some saw it as a solid fight from the Jets, a team that are seen as the underdog in this series, Head Coach Scott Arniel disagrees, as he absolutely ripped the team after their loss, accusing them of not rising to the occasion to start the series on the right foot.

'That did not feel like a playoff game in Game 1 in Round 2. That felt like game 45 in the middle of December.'

After the team went 4-0 in their first-round series against the St. Louis Blues on home ice, they just couldn't get the offense going here, and after allowing a Mikko Rantanen hat-trick in the second period, they fought but ultimately came up short late in the game.

With a team full of veterans, the expectation is that this team can get back into the fight in Game 2, especially with Connor Hellebuyck playing a much better game here, but if Dallas can get both Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen healthy, it will be a tough series for the Western Conference No. 1 seed.

Ultimately, this might be what Winnipeg needed after a lackluster start to this series, and after the fight they showed in Game 7 to save their series, don't be shocked to see them turn it on in Game 2 of this one as they look to get the series even at 1-1 before heading back to Dallas.
