A struggling center looks to be on his way back down to the minors, where a larger role awaits.
On Tuesday, the Winnipeg Jets placed forward Brad Lambert on waivers, making him available to the other 31 teams in the NHL.

If Lambert clears waivers on Wednesday, he’ll become eligible to be assigned to the Jets’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose.
Lambert has been in the lineup for most of the first month of the 2026-27 season in Winnipeg, but, like the team around him, hasn’t done much. In 11 appearances, he has just one assist, that coming in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 15. He has gone pointless in each of his previous five games, last dressing in the Jets lineup last Thursday, when the team lost a tough battle to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 5-4. The 22-year-old logged less than nine minutes of ice time in the defeat. Lambert has a plus/minus of -5 while averaging 9:10 of ice time per game.
There was belief that Lambert could see some considerable playing time with the Jets this season. He posted three goals and six points in 25 contests during the 2025-26 season, the most during a single campaign in his brief NHL tenure. However, the organization appears to believe his talent could be used in the AHL.
In 42 games in the NHL, the former first-round pick has three goals and nine points. In 173 regular-season games in the AHL, Lambert has posted 36 goals and 70 assists for 106 points, with one assist in nine Calder Cup Playoff contests.
The only player put on waivers on Monday was Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bo Groulx. He cleared and can now be sent down to the Leafs’ top farm team, the Toronto Marlies.
