The Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday signed forward Isak Rosen to a two-year contract extension worth $1.85 million, carrying an average annual value of $925,000 beginning in the 2026-27 season. The agreement keeps the 23-year-old winger from reaching restricted free agency and extends his stay in Winnipeg after arriving at the 2026 trade deadline.

Rosen joined the Jets in a March 6 deal with the Buffalo Sabres that sent defensemen Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn to Buffalo. Winnipeg also acquired defenseman Jacob Bryson, a 2026 fourth-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick as part of the transaction.

The Swedish forward split the 2025-26 campaign between the Sabres and Jets, finishing with six goals and 10 points in 37 NHL games. Before the trade, Rosen recorded seven points in 16 games with Buffalo. After joining Winnipeg, he remained in the lineup for the rest of the season and scored three goals in 21 appearances while primarily playing in a bottom-six role.

While his NHL production has been limited so far, Rosen has emerged as one of the American Hockey League’s most productive young forwards. He led the Rochester Americans with 25 goals in just 37 games during the 2025-26 season and amassed 43 points before his promotion to the NHL. His performance earned him AHL Player of the Month honors for November 2025 after he collected 12 points, including five goals and seven assists, in eight games.

Rosrn’s AHL resume includes 185 points on 87 goals and 98 assists in 231 career games with Rochester. He also produced 16 points in 27 Calder Cup Playoff contests. In previous seasons, he accumulated 50 points in 67 games in 2023-24 and followed that with 55 points, including a team-leading 28 goals, in 61 games during 2024-25.

Originally selected 14th overall by the Sabres in the 2021 NHL Draft, Rosen has appeared in 52 NHL games across parts of three seasons, compiling six goals and 11 points.

Internationally, Rosen represented Sweden at multiple World Junior Championships, winning a bronze medal in 2022 while notching five points in the tournament. Across the 2022 and 2023 World Juniors, he garnered 11 points in 14 games for Sweden.

With his entry-level contract behind him and a new two-year deal in place, Rosen will look to build on his AHL scoring success and earn a more consistent NHL role with the Jets.
