The Winnipeg Jets signed forward Gustav Nyquist to a one-year, $3.25 million contract on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Nyquist had 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in 79 regular-season games with the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators in 2024-25, as well as playing in six playoff games with the Wild this past spring.
Through 13 NHL seasons, Nyquist, a native of Hamstad, Sweden, has 209 goals and 322 assists for 531 points in 863 career regular-season games with the Wild, Predators, Columbus Blue Jackets, San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings.
Nyquist, a fourth-round pick for the Red Wings in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, recorded his most productive season in 2023-24 with the Predators, scoring 23 goals and 52 assists for 75 points.
He has also played in 83 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring six goals and 24 assists for 30 points.
Internationally, Nyquist has represented Sweden on a number of occasions, helping them earn a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, as well as a gold medal at the 2018 World Championships. He was also part of their 4 Nations Face-Off roster.
On Wednesday, the team announced that they have signed forwards Walker Duehr and Samuel Fagemo, along with defenseman Kale Clague and Isaac Poulter, to one-year, two-way contracts. Each contract carries an NHL cap hit of $775,000.
The Jets finished the 2024-25 season with a 56-22-4 record and 116 points, first in the Central Division, Western Conference and the entire league, earning the Presidents’ Trophy for the first time in franchise history.
They eliminated the St. Louis Blues in seven games in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but were eliminated by the Dallas Stars in six in the second round.
