He dropped it to Kevin Rooney who was right near him. Rooney passed it through the neutral zone, where it found Adam Klapka. He passed it back to Rooney who took a shot that was blocked. Klapka picked up the rebound and scored the first goal of the night. The first period came to a close with the Flames up by one.
Eight minutes into the second, the Flames took a seat for too many men on the ice. While the Kraken were unable to capitalize on their first power play opportunity, they cashed in on their second. Andre Burakovsky had the puck in the faceoff circle. He sent it to Jared McCann at the opposing faceoff dot. He saw Jaden Schwartz next to the net and McCann sent a pass to him. He slipped the puck into the back of the net with just 20 seconds left on the extra man advantage.
With just a minute and a half left in the second period, the Kraken scored once more. Vince Dunn stole the puck away from the Flames, who were making a break to the net. Dunn sent the puck through the neutral zone, where it found Tye Kartye. Kartye outpaced the two Flames players who tried to defend him. Morgan Frost skated through the neutral zone and into the Flames’ offensive zone. He dropped the puck down to Johnathan Huberdeau. He passed it across the ice for Nazem Kadri. From the faceoff dot, he took the shot and scored.
