Kiefer Sherwood Out Against Hurricanes with Upper Body Injury
USA TODAY Sports

Forward Kiefer Sherwood is out of the lineup tonight in Raleigh and is day-to-day with an upper body injury, according to the Nashville Predators

Sherwood is listed as day-to-day.

The 29-year-old forward has played all 29 games this season and scored five goals and eleven points. Sherwood averages just over 12:00 of time on ice and has been an important part of one of the Predators' early surprise offensive lines with Tommy Novak and Luke Evangelista. Novak missed eleven games with an upper body injury, and in his absence Evangelista and Sherwood worked with different line mates.

Last season, Sherwood began 2022-23 in Nashville but ended up spending 42 games with the Milwaukee Admirals. Sherwood returned to the Predators' lineup late in the season as veterans went down with injuries and Nashville traded players at the deadline. Sherwood's speed and tenacity after the puck earned him a much more secure place in the line up this season.

The Predators will play their second game in this back-to-back tomorrow night at home against the Washington Capitals. It is unclear if Sherwood could return for that game.
