The Los Angeles Kings have released their all-new third jersey for the 2025-26 NHL season, debuting in the season opener against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.
The game will primarily be used on Saturdays, with 14 of the 16 outings dubbed as “Silver Saturdays.” The other game will be on Monday, Dec. 29, which is also against the Avalanche.
There was no indication that the Kings would skate out with their new uniforms on opening night. But in the end, the biggest ovation came when captain Anze Kopitar – set to play in his final NHL season – walked out last with the updated look.

The jersey features a black base with a silver crown, with silver helmets capping off the look. The color scheme matches what the team usually wears with their home and away uniforms, but features an updated version of the crown that the team originally wore back in 1967.
The Kings previously used the crown logo as part of their 2022-23 Reverse Retro look. Before that, they used it with their yellow alternates during Legends Nights in 2014-17, while last using it as a primary logo in 1988. The Kings last had a third jersey in 2023-24 when they wore a version of what would become their away jersey in 2024-25. Before that, they had a grey alternate with black striping and gold-trimmed letters that they used in 2016-17, as well as from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
The Kings will travel to Vegas to take on the Golden Knights on Wednesday night to mark the first back-to-back of the NHL season. They’ll stay on the road to take on Winnipeg on Saturday before heading to Minnesota on Oct. 13. The Kings will return home to take on Pittsburgh on Oct. 16 before next wearing their new alternate jersey on Oct. 18.
