Hours before the puck drops on another Vegas Golden Knights season, the team dropped a major report surrounding superstar center Jack Eichel.
According to multiple reports, the Golden Knights and Eichel have agreed to an eight-year extension with an annual average value of $13.5 million.

Eichel was the final free agent domino to fall before the season starts, with other major 2026 free agents such as Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota Wild), Connor McDavid ( Edmonton Oilers) and Kyle Connor (Winnipeg Jets) signing extensions before the season begins.
The extension means that the Golden Knights will have both Eichel and Mitch Marner up until the 2033-34 season.
Eichel is coming off a career-best season, finishing with a career-high 94 points and top-five finishes for both the Hart and Selke Trophies. The Golden Knights would carry those statistics to a 110-point season and a Pacific Division trophy, but they lost in the second round to the Edmonton Oilers.
Eichel has been arguably the best move in the Golden Knights’ young history, and he has now been rewarded for his efforts.
