As the Seattle Kraken get ready to take on the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday, March 19, one player is getting ready for another milestone. Forward Jaden Schwartz is lacing up for his 800th NHL game.

Schwartz was selected 14th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues. During the 2010-11 season, he played at the collegiate level with Colorado College. He recorded 47 points in 30 games with 17 goals and 30 assists.

In the 2011-12 season, he spent the majority of it playing at the collegiate level for Colorado College once again, playing 30 games. He recorded 41 points via 15 goals and 26 assists. Late into the 2011-12 season, Schwartz was called up by the St. Louis Blues. He played his first NHL game on March 17, 2012, and recorded a goal. He went on to play six more games with the Blues and recorded another goal and an assist.

Schwartz played with the Blues from the 2012-13 season until the 2020-21 season. He played in 553 games in St. Louis, recording a total of 382 points via 152 goals and 230 assists.

Out of the 10 seasons he spent with the Blues, Schwartz also reached the playoffs eight times. Only missing the postseason in the 2011-12 season and the 2017-18 season, Schwartz played in 88 playoff games and recorded 54 points via 26 goals and 28 assists.

On July 28, 2021, the Kraken signed Schwartz as a free agent. He signed for five years with an average annual value (AAV) of $5.5 million, ending in the 2025-26 season.

From the 2021-22 season to the 2023-24 season, Schwartz played in 170 games and recorded 93 points via 42 goals and 51 assists. In the 2022-23 season, the Kraken reached the playoffs and Schwartz played in 14 games. He recorded five goals and five assists for a total of ten points.

So far this season, Schwartz has played in 69 games, recording 40 points via 19 goals and 21 assists. He has been a solid addition to the team this season, currently playing left wing on the first line with Matty Beniers at center and Kaapo Kakko to his right. The three together have added great depth to the Kraken’s top-six forwards.

Congratulations to Jaden Schwartz on his 800th NHL game!
