The draft is over, and now it’s time for prospects to take the ice for Development Camp this week. The LA Kings will hold Development Camp Monday through Thursday. Scrimmages will take place Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the last day only having a scrimmage to conclude camp, per the team’s official release.

Here’s a breakdown of who is attending:
Teams always have camp invites, and two names pop out when looking at this year’s list for the Kings. Those players are Grant Slukynsky and Noah Morneau. Grant is the older brother of Kings goalie prospect Hampton Slukynsky. Grant was part of Western Michigan University’s championship team. He had 36 points (10 G, 26 A) for the Broncos. Morneau was linemates with Liam Greentree in Windsor last season. He’s committed to Bowling Green University next season (NCAA).
Kings fans will get their first live look at Kirill Kirsanov. Kirsanov, 22, will attend his second Development Camp and take part in activities for the first time (injured last year). After finishing his three-year contract in the KHL, the Kings signed him to a two-year entry-level contract. I’m excited to see how he does in his first year in North America.
2022 second-round pick Jack Hughes and the rest of the 2022 draft class will take part in Development Camp this year. The biggest surprise here is Hughes. I didn’t expect the Kings to sign him to an entry-level contract, but, surprise! According to a report from John Hoven of Mayor’s Manor, the Kings are expected to sign Hughes to an entry-level contract. I expect him to start the season with Ontario.
The Kings’ number-one prospect, Liam Greentree, will attend but not take part in drills due to offseason wrist surgery, per LA Kings insider Zach Dooley. Greentree had 119 points (49 G, 70 A) in 64 regular-season games and 24 points (14 G, 10 A) in 11 playoff games for the Windsor Spitfires this past season.
Note on 2024 first-round pick Liam Greentree –
He will attend @LAKings Development Camp this week but won’t participate in group on-ice sessions.
Greentree had successful offseason wrist surgery and is expected to make a full recovery for next season. https://t.co/gzAhTbqBOx

Ryan Conmy, the Kings’ sixth-round pick in 2023, has been one of the fastest risers in the prospect pool for LA. The 20-year-old forward (RW) had 33 points (15 G, 18 A) in 34 games at the University of New Hampshire and transferred to Boston College for this upcoming season. He is a name to keep an eye on after an impressive first year at Development Camp two years ago and a strong freshman and sophomore seasons at the NCAA level.
Seven of the nine picks from this weekend’s draft will attend this week’s festivities. The two players who won’t be at the Toyota Sports Performance Center are Kristian Epperson and Brendan McMorrow. Both will be playing in the NCAA at the University of Denver this upcoming year.
Finally, the goalies. The position with the most promise in the Kings’ pipeline will feature three of the four netminders and a camp invite between the pipes: Carter George, Hampton Slukynsky, Petteri Rimpinen, and Max Hildebrand (camp invite). This is the area that will be exciting to watch this week.
