A week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings prospect update. Two prospects highlighted this weekly update. One prospect is in college and the other is in the American Hockey League (AHL). The two prospects that highlighted this weekly update are Ryan Conmy and Aatu Jamsen.

Conmy has been on a tear for the University of New Hampshire this season. LA’s 2023 sixth-round draft pick leads UNH in goals (8) and points (16) while being tied in assists (8). Conmy extended his point streak to eight games (4G, 6A) with a goal in UNH’s game on Friday against Dartmouth and would add an assist in their exhibition game against the U.S. Under-18 Team the following night.

Conmy always puts himself in the right place to get his shot off or finds a way to do it when he has the puck on his stick. If you haven’t taken notice of him you probably should now. He has 16 points in 13 games, a +8 rating, and no penalties for UNH.

Jamsen is another late-round draft pick (seventh round in 2020) by the Kings who turned heads in training camp with his puck-handling skills. The 22-year-old played in the Ontario Reign’s lone game during the week and recorded a goal, an assist, and a fight for a Gordie Howe hat trick. It was Jamsen’s second multi-point game and first fight of the year.

Jamsen, a winger, has been playing center due to the rotation with him and Kaleb Lawrence, who is now in Greenville, in the lineup, Samuel Helenius being called up to the Kings, and earning Marco Sturm’s trust playing the position. The Kings have had success with their late-round draft pick and Jamsen is another one, if everything goes right, who could make the Kings in the future with his skating and skillset.
