Another week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings‘ weekly prospect update. Usually, I select one player who highlighted the week during these segments, but last week was a special one that will force me to break that trend for this week because a trio of prospects made their NHL debuts. Those players were Kenny Connors, Jared Wright, and Angus Booth.

Booth, 21, scored his first NHL goal in his debut in a 4-2 Kings loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Booth was eventually loaned back to the AHL the following day and posted three assists in the following two games with the Ontario Reign. Known as a defensive defenseman with mobility, Booth’s offense highlighted the week.

Connors, 23, also made his NHL debut. He tallied 10:14 of ice time and four shots on goal in his debut and played slightly over seven minutes in his second NHL game. He was loaned back to the Reign on Friday and played in their 2-1 victory over Henderson on Sunday.

Wright, 23, had the most eventful week of the three. After playing Ontario’s 4-2 victory over Bakersfield the previous Sunday, he got the call on Monday afternoon that he would also be making his NHL debut. Wright played alongside his buddy Connors and logged 9:42 of ice time. The rookie was loaned back to the Reign and netted two goals in Ontario’s 4-1 victory and has remained with the Kings since (not counting the brief paper transaction on deadline day). He recorded his first NHL point (an assist) in a 4-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
