With training camp just around the corner, we are previewing each player on the LA Kings roster. Up next: Kaleb Lawrence!

Kaleb Lawrence

Birthdate: January 10, 2003

Birthplace: Ottawa, Ontario

Height: 6’7

Weight: 229 lbs

Position: Center

Shoots: Left

Draft: 7th round, 215th overall, 2022 NHL Entry Draft

2024-25 season

Kaleb Lawrence spent time with both the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL) and the Ontario Reign (AHL) in his first season as a professional. The 6-foot-7 monster tallied 16 points (7 G, 9 A) in 27 games for Greenville and eight points (6 G, 2 A) in 25 games with Ontario. Lawrence, known for his physical presence, racked up 70 penalty minutes combined with the two clubs.

When playing for the Reign, he was deployed as a fourth-line center and occasionally saw time on the penalty kill for Marco Sturm’s squad. Lawrence ended the regular season red hot, scoring a goal in the final three games, and suited up for one playoff game. All in all, not a bad rookie campaign for a seventh-round pick.

2025-26 outlook

Lawrence will return for his second professional season. It will be interesting to see if he’ll spend time with both Greenville and Ontario again, but if he does start the year with Ontario, I expect his role to be a fourth-line center or winger and possibly see time on the penalty kill when in the lineup.
