With training camp just around the corner, we are previewing each player on the LA Kings roster. Up next: Logan Brown!

Logan Brown

Birthdate: March 5, 1998

Birthplace: Raleigh, North Carolina

Height: 6’6

Weight: 227 lbs

Position: Center

Shoots: Left

Draft: 1st round, 16th overall, 2016 NHL Entry Draft

2024-25 season

Logan Brown, a former first-round pick by the Ottawa Senators, hasn’t panned out as one. He put pen to paper on an AHL contract with the Syracuse Crunch, Tampa Bay Lightning’s AHL affiliate, and played in 33 games for the club. The 6-foot-6 centerman put up 11 goals and recorded 18 helpers for the Crunch in those 33 games. His 29 points in 33 games were close to being a point-per-game player for a Syracuse team starving for offense throughout the season.

With his strong play for Syracuse, Tampa Bay signed him to a one-year NHL contract, but would place him on waivers immediately to keep him in the AHL. He played in all three of Syracuse’s playoff games, recording one assist as the team was swept in a best-of-five series against the Rochester Americans.

2025-26 outlook

With a solid bounce-back season from injury in the rearview mirror, Brown signed a one-year, two-way contract with the LA Kings. Brown isn’t expected to play for the Kings, but if he clears waivers, he would be a solid addition for the Ontario Reign.

Looking at his career numbers in the AHL (127 points in 148 games), he’ll provide offense for the Reign. I project he’ll be playing on their third line, but whether he plays as a center or on the wing will be known down the road. Andrew Lord is projected to have plenty of centermen on the roster, but expect Brown to play a vital role for the first-year Reign head coach.
