With training camp just around the corner, we are previewing each player on the LA Kings roster. Up next: Owen Flores!

Birthdate: May 9, 2004

Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois

Height: 6’2

Weight: 195 lbs

Position: Goalie

Catches: Left

Draft: Undrafted

*NOTE: Since August 23rd, my Mom has picked the order of the training camp player previews for the Reign players because I couldn’t figure out what order to do them in. So, I asked for her assistance. Today, she chose Owen Flores!

2025-26 season

Owen Flores’ first season as a pro was spent in the ECHL and AHL, with the majority of the time spent in the former. In 25 games with the Indy Fuel, the 21-year-old netminder posted an 11-10-4 record with a 2.74 GAA, .890 SV%, and three shutouts. In five AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs (Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate), he posted a 3-1-1 record, with a 1.98 GAA, .928 SV%, and no shutouts. The IceHogs opted not to bring him back after his one-year AHL contract expired.

2026-27 outlook

The Reign signed Flores to a one-year AHL contract on July 23rd . With Hampton Slukynsky and Carter George turning pro and becoming Los Angeles’ prized goalie prospects, Flores’ signing is for depth. I expect he’ll be assigned to the ECHL’s Greenville Swamp Rabbits after camp. If injuries or call-ups hit the goalie pipes for the Reign, Flores will be an option for a call-up.
