Leaked Footage Emerges of Brad Marchand Getting Destroyed by Simon Benoit

Brad Marchand has had an up and down series for the Panthers, but in Game 6 on home ice, he was absolutely rocked by standout defenseman Simon Benoit.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs series between the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs has been absolutely brutal thus far, and even after the one-sided Game 5 in Toronto, the intensity and physicality returned for Game 6, an upset win for the Maple Leafs.

One thing that went fairly unnoticed during that game was a massive hit from Simon Benoit on Brad Marchand, something that would have undoubtedly fired up his team as they looked for a spark that would help them to the 2-0 victory.

This was just one of many plays that allowed Benoit and the Maple Leafs to keep their series and their season alive, and it's yet another example of how well the once overlooked defenseman has played.

While it's Auston Matthews, William Nylander and Max Pacioretty among others that will get the plaudits for the way they played in Game 6, Benoit has been just as good, and on social media, it appears he's finally getting recognition for how well he plays within his role.

While Benoit may not be a massive point producer on the third pairing, he has been a +1 over the Maple Leafs last two games, and with the physicality he brings, there are few more important players on the blue line than him.

This is just another example of the fantastic work he's done throughout the post-season, with seven of the teams 12 games ending in him being a +0 or better on the differential, and if he keeps playing like this, he could help lead this team to the Eastern Conference Finals.
