Before the Chicago Blackhawks game in Columbus on Saturday, Charlie Roumelitotis reported that defenseman Louis Crevier was assigned to the Rockford IceHogs, and Jason Dickinson was placed on injured reserve (IR).
#Blackhawks assign defenseman Louis Crevier to AHL’s Rockford IceHogs and place Jason Dickinson (high ankle sprain) on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 5.

Crevier was initially placed on IR on Feb. 3 after taking a big hit against the Florida Panthers. Crevier was in concussion protocol until he was able to practice in a Hawks contact sweater this past week. I imagine if Crevier was not injured, he would have been sent to Rockford before the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
Crevier has played 23 games with the Blackhawks this season and has three goals and an assist. He also had a 42 Corsi and a 43% expected goals share. Crevier spent most of his time with Alex Vlasic, 249:05 minutes total together. It will be interesting to see if Vlasic's performance improves without Crevier.
Jason Dickinson was injured on Feb. 5 against the Edmonton Oilers. Dickinson's impact on the Blackhawks is his stellar defense. He's the best defensive center on the team. Dickinson will miss two-to-three more weeks with a high-ankle sprain. In 53 games, Dickinson has seven goals and nine assists.
