Luke Cavallin Signs ELC With Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins have signed goaltender Luke Cavallin to a one-year, entry-level contract worth $775,000. Cavallin, 24, is coming off a great year with the Trois-Rivières Lions as he put up a 19-10-2 record with a 2.13 GAA, .929SV%, and three shutouts. He also saw action in three games with the Laval Rocket, going 1-1 with a 2.46 GAA and .897SV%. His best numbers would come during the Kelly Cup Playoffs as he led the Lions to their first ever Kelly Cup Championship while putting up a 15-5 record with a 1.53 GAA, .948SV%, and three shutouts. He would ultimately be named the Kelly Cup Playoff MVP.

Prior to joining the Lions, Luke Cavallin would spend two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. He would play in 59 games with the Newfoundland Growlers, putting up a 39-15-4 record with a 2.72 GAA, .917SV%, and four shutouts. Cavallin would play in six games during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Newfoundland. He would go 2-3 with a 2.36 GAA, and .925SV%. The Swinton, England, native would play in nine AHL games with the Toronto Marlies during the 2023-24 season. In those nine games, he would put up a 3-4-2 record with a 3.01 GAA and .884SV%.

Before going pro, Cavallin played four seasons in the OHL with the Flint Firebirds, where he compiled a 62-57-8 record with a 3.92 GAA, a .889 SV%, and two shutouts. Cavallin would play 10 games in Italy during the 2020-21 season, where he went 5-3 with a 2.89 GAA and .903SV%.
